Elemi is a tree species in the olive family of the Philippines. The yellow resin from the cut bark will solidify into lumps when exposed to air, and about 20~30% of the essential oil can be extracted from it. Elemi essential oil has a hint of citrus. One of the fragrant materials commonly used by the ancient Egyptians for anti-corrosion, it was widely used in ancient Arabia, Turkey and other places. Elemi essential oil helps calm the nerves and soothes the psychological aspect. It can also increase immunity and help suppress deterioration in the early stages of the disease.
